General Objective
- The main objective of the Foreign Language Institute at UTP is to address and fulfill the need that undergraduate students present regarding the learning of a foreign language; preferably English, although students may opt to study other foreign languages, such as German or French. In this respect, either the learning of English, or of another Foreign Language, will be a fundamental condition to fulfill the requirement of proficiency in English as a Foreign Language ( Agreement 49 of November 9th , 2000 by UTP’s Academic Council)
- The institute will also offer Language courses for anyone interested in taking them, with or without direct affiliation to the university.
Specific Objectives
- To offer Language courses designed for the teaching and training of university students, as part of an essential preparatory process that will allow them to develop the language requirements established by the university.
- To design and implement language courses and extension projects in the field of foreign languages for children, adults, graduate students, alumni, high school students and students from other universities of the region; in addition to promoting strategic alliances and cooperation agreements with public educational institutions.
- To offer consulting services to Educational institutions for the development of Language programs.
- To design and implement assessment instruments.
